RC Model X1 Bill of Materials

LUMBER: Do NOT purchase any lumber until you read this section. Do NOT purchase any NET SIZED material. All wood is re-sawn from standard lumberyard 1" stock, usually finishing to about 3/4". Almost any good quality lumber free of knots can be used. The prototype used mahogany (mahog.) for exposed trim and pine and fir for painted parts. Check all material listings to the work prior to purchasing materials.

Outer sheer 2 3/8" x 3/8" x 43"
Transom sheer 1 3/8" x 3/8" X 16"
Hatch coaming edge 3 1/4" x 1/4" x 19" - makes all
Strut blocking and cradle 1 1" x 2" x 34" - makes all

PLYWOOD: All plywood is marine or exterior grade; interior grades are NOT desirable. The prototype was built with 1/8" exterior "door skin" plywood, and coated with epoxy and has given no problem. More desirable would be a comparable thickness of marine plywood with mahogany appearing veneer. Check Pattern sheet 1 of 1 to see how the parts are obtained from the listed size.
