Variation on a technique

Hi Guys, After having the plans sit in my cupboard for 5 years, I've decided to start building a raven, as I'm currently enjoying my time in my 16ft Streaker which i bought second hand, so i can enjoy fishing and boating in the meantime. Re: My Hell Cat Project

I just got home, and have been reading thru my hell cat plans

They seem pretty good, but i was curious is it possible to use normal timber planking instead of plywood?

Say using thin sheets of wood to build up to the plywood thickness

Re: My Hell Cat Project

hi vette, The amp draw of the motors when under load, at full throttle is about 50 to 60A I checked this with the spec sheet, but this is measured on the bench, at starting up. Plus they had specs listed albeit from a test bench that is if the motor is used in a car. But in concern with the batterie...

Re: My Hell Cat Project

I was also looking into a drive source, now the normal drive source for the Hell Cat is twin 50hp outboards. But after looking about the net, I'm going with electric motors. As i found a business in Europe that sells 40kW Brush-less Outrigger Motors including Motor Controller. And cause of its highe...

Re: Just a Thought

Its nice to get a discussion going on an idea to brainstorm. In regards to water cooling the way to solve the problem salt water causes, a simple system can be used, with a zinc catalyst to prevent corrosion. But also yes motor cycles engines have the low end torque, in this effect this can be good ...

Is it possible to use say a pair of motorcycle engines in a Power cat instead of an outboard, being that they are air cooled and all, in an inboard style configuration, this is just a thought on a possible idea.

Re: Building the Raven 23" out of aluminum instead of ply??

Yeah I know how to weld aluminum as i did a mig course couple years back and specifically asked to learn how to weld aluminum as the work i was doing at the time i dealt with alot of custom fabricated aluminum mounts for speakers etc.
