Re: Key Largo Build in Charleston

Small nut first.
I use the large nut to torque it down, then take it off and the small nut goes on then lock it with the large.

Re: Lee's Monaco utility build

It doesn’t change much with the load. maybe a little lower with 5 aboard and maybe a little lower in the front with 2 people in the front, but you can’t be level and even all the time. I figure if the water line is level at rest that’s as good as it gets.

Re: Lee's Monaco utility build

I stopped the bottom paint about an 1” above where the plans called for the water line but left the boot stripe off.
When I launched it I marked the water line then added the boot stripe to get it right.

Re: OMC 5.0L overheating.

I don't know if this applies to your setup but with mine a standard thermostat will not work. it has to have a check valve or a small bypass hole to let the hot water past the bottom to the top of the thermostat for it to open. On mine if it does not have a hole it has an air pocket on the side of t...

That would be tough
That is where lifting eyes make it easy.
using an engine hoist lift the bow and secure it then lift the back and roll the trailer in or out.

Re: Neel's Palm Beach 22 build

I have posted this before It was cheap ( for me free I had the stuff on hand ) and I think the best way to ensure a straight hole. Used the strut and a starting block like most everyone does. I made a long hole saw out of 1 1/2" conduit. Ground and offset teeth on one end and bolted a regular hole s...

Lake Powell
Anywhere from 100' to 500' to 1'
Lots of formations, some just under the surface. I hit ground there. Lucky going slow and soft sandstone, no damage.
