Re: Lord Nelson FG hull for sale in Wilmington, CA

He didn't say much about the condition. He had it on Craigslist for a while and kept lowering the price and I can't remember for sure what it was down to but $2400 came to mind--don't hold me on that though. I think we're a last ditch effort.

Lord Nelson FG hull for sale in Wilmington, CA

A man just called and he has a Lord Nelson that he's looking to unload. I guess the original builder passed away and he bought it and finished it and even lived on it for a while, but he wants to get rid of it. He said he's going to scrap it, btw. I posted a photo on Facebook and hopefully you all c...

Re: New Member from the UK

Welcome Mark from the UK! What a beautiful Ski Tow you've built--very nice work. I like your dash with the knotty wood and the gauge panel. The Ski Tow and Malahini have the same hull and there are probably more Malahini builders on here than Ski Tow. Thank you for sharing the photos!

You can see Glenn's Waterlodge here:

Just talked to another guy who builds rat rods and he'll be building a shanty boat too using our Waterlodge plans. He's definitely going with the shanty look!

Re: Michael's ZIP

Really nice work, Michael. I like the way you did frame 5-1/2 and the stem/keel junction. I really wish I would have asked my dad why the Zip has frames 2, 4 and 5-1/2.

G13 Tee Shirts

I apologize for the delay in getting this online--Michael sent the graphics to me a while back. He did a beautiful job as always and this shirt is a tribute to Naval Architect, Ken Hankinson. Thank you Michael! The deadline for ordering is August 15: https://www.boatdesigns.com/G13-Tee-Shirt-Gatheri...

Re: I will be turning wood into a Cabin Skiff soon...

Your boat is really coming along and looks great! I hope you don't mind if I use this quote as I think it's a great one--I would give you credit, of course: "Good work comes from experience. Experience comes from bad work. Never be afraid to try, you may surprise yourself, even if all you learn is h...

Re: Newbie from Central New York (Syracuse, NY Area)

Welcome Andy! Glad to hear you're going to build a Ski King--that's a very classy boat... it was my dad's (Glen-L) personal boat in the 50's.

Re: Newbie, Tahoe 23

Welcome Joe! Bill and Butch have built awesome Tahoes and it's so great that you can just go over and look at one. You know, before the internet, people just built their boat on their own and never even knew if other people were building them or not. They didn't know which were popular boats or very...
