Re: WithDrew's Ski King

I wonder if they are producing Glenwood stuff or is Glenwood producing it and they are the outlet? Good to see some items are still available.

Re: FL Tahoe 23

I laminated my keel, so the carriage bolt heads were countersunk in the first layer getting them deep enough to avoid hitting them during fairing. All the screws were put into the first layer to glue and secure to the frames. Lots of clamps to epoxy second layer. I used Sapele for the keel. Roberta

Re: FL Tahoe 23

They tend to be long. Sometimes the extra length helps to draw the keel into the stem. Alternately, you can bolt the keel to the stem first, then pull the keel into the frames. You can counter bore the holes in the keel and stem to shorten the bolts a bit and use washers under the nuts.

Re: WithDrew's Ski King

I guess I didn't say that the engine should be raised. I merely stated to ensure it was high enough that water was not easily ingested.

Re: WithDrew's Ski King

They weren't using any risers in the exhaust. It will be a good idea to make sure the engine is high enough to prevent water from backing up into the engine when water surges towards the back of the boat when slowing or stopping. Flappers in the transom outlets helps, too.

Re: WithDrew's Ski King

It should be simple enough to make a covers for the one exit and fabricate the end exits with the correct size tube for your exhaust hose of choice. Any welder or shop could use the end covers as a pattern or modify the covers. Should be cool to see another classic motor powering a boat.

Re: WithDrew's Ski King

Here is a link to a flathead using the Glenwood headers. This installation is what I am used to seeing. The endplates are incorporated so one casting will accommodate right and left applications and a variety of configurations. Scroll down to see the flathead engine. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/fo...

Re: WithDrew's Ski King

Any chance to get more views? Marine versions I have seen have one end cap replaced with an outlet. Unable to see to much on the bottom.

Re: Malahini Transom dimensions

You can design seat backs and bottoms that are removable to allow access.
