Darren I used Oregon for the frames/ engine bearers etc from bone timber in Adelaide ask for select timbers and tell them what you are building,the timbers I got were beautiful.I made the frames out of mdf first then pinned them onto the solid timber and ran the router around came out good anyway go...

welcome Darren I suggest pull the cars out cover them and start a boat,you will find that you cant leave it alone,but remember its a long term project,and its not rocket science and this site is great for advise,i looked at Bob perkins biscayne build photos and decided to use his photos as my guide ...

Thanks for the replies regarding the sheer profile I was more worried about getting the side profile right not the deck ,but like the idea of taking photographs,maybe I will just carry on with the boat as is thanks again Rob
