Re: New member Michael Surman from salt spring island BC Canada

Re: New member from Peoria Illinois

Welcome!

I think there's a few "go fast" boats on the Illinois so those are your biggest concerns. Just remember to keep the bow up on wakes.

Unfortunately there will be many details like this that you will have to work out f...

Re: Tahoe 21 feet based on an Tahoe 19

Welcome!

I used the Raptor nails on all layers, just be sure to be generous with your epoxy. On the bottom planks I used weights where I could, primarily to keep the seams flush.

Re: 20ft Texas Barrel

Petcocks can clog with sand, and not drain completely. Jim The drain holes can clog no matter what you have in them, that's one reason why you blow them out with air. The petcocks just make it easier to get onto with a pair of pliers while you're standing upside down, laying at a funky angle or oth...

Re: 20ft Texas Barrel

The used 305 I originally bought had some very nice brass petcocks installed on each exhaust manifold and on each side of the block. I cleaned these up and re-used them on the new build, they're easy to pop open for draining out the system and if you've got a rubber tipped air gun (provided your air...

Re: Material for frames

Have you checked mahogany prices? I found it was cheaper for me than DF.

White oak is another option but be cautious with oak species as Bill has mentioned above.
