Re: Sabotina chines and sheer clamp size and fasteners.

You dont really want to use anything from Home Depot on a boat build unless you only want it to last a very short time. Look for hardwood lumber suppliers. Boulter Plywood in Medford would be a perfect place to go. Many here have mail ordered their lumber from them and youre lucky enough to have the...

Re: Lose of Brian Dow

Heather and I had our first ride in a Glen-L boat with Bruce and Brian in Gemma at the last Guntersville Gathering. We didnt even know them a few hours before but they were very welcoming and gracious to spend a good amount of time talking with us that year. Glad to have known Brian. He was a very p...

Re: 'Supermarine' is now 'Blue Water'

Interesting Andy, thanks for sharing. I dont think this is the first time it has changed names either. In the end it turned out fine for me using SM1000 but having now used others that have been around for decades with great results I wonder why I used it in the first place. It was only because they...

Re: Deck Trim

Stainless rub rail does not bend "easily". My suggestion would be if you are deciding between two sizes go with the narrower. I couldnt decide on 1/2" or 3/4" and I bought 150$ worth of 3/4" stainless rub rail because I liked the nice wide look and then I couldnt get it to bend enough. A lot depends...

Re: Stuck throttle on my Zip!

Andy, I had several running issues early on with my 1975 40hp motor. First the brand new primer bulb failed. Then I had issues idling, and starving of fuel at full throttle, rebuilt the fuel pump diaphragm, which is actually super easy, and it ran great for 2 seasons. Then I started chasing a misfir...

Re: Boat Show 2019

I was also amazed at the sheer size of outboards here at our new boat show also. Most of them on $100,000 PONTOON boats! But up here absolutely everything was Mercury. The only inboards were the wakeboard boats. I saw several 400hp outboards on bass boats. The comical thing about that is our...

Re: sabotina instructions

(edit) Looks like hoodman and I were responding at the same time with similar responses..... I'll still go ahead and echo his with mine. With most things in boat-building there is often about 3 tried and true methods of performing a given task. Be it just transferring plan lines to plywood, how to j...

I'll definitely have bourbon. As for the baby teeth, he will have just started kindergarten and momma doesnt sound like she wants me to take him out of school for a couple days but I'm working on it.

Hey Bill, do you have a list of who is in what Cabin? I still need to reserve.

Re: Need a new home for my Monaco

Sorry to hear that Garry. Your boat is beautiful, I remember looking at the pictures of it back before I ever started building. Since you are under the gun on time you might want to consider look into www.bringatrailer.com a couple of us have had great experiences selling boats there.
