Re: Ian's TNT Build
Not sure about the shaft and bearing either, maybe a call to Glen-l would help clarify. A 1/2" bearing flange like this one mounted on the back of the dash could be made to work with shaft cut to suit: https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/motors/bearings/mounted-bearings-flange/tritan-ucf201-8-flange-...

Forge,
Take a look at the exposed drum steering kit in the Glen-L store.

Re: Klondike Build
Thanks Bill... we're working on it. Everything's pretty much closed up until January.
Chug, not sure what you mean. The construction site is about 110 miles from the boat yard if you were able to drive directly... maybe 200 miles with rerouting.

Re: Klondike Build
Thanks Carl... trying to enjoy the journey without losing sight of the destination. Shorter, colder days and Holiday activities slow things down a bit this time of year but we still keep pedaling!

Re: Glen L 15 with Gaff rig is possible?
This thread is a very informative discussion of sail design (even for a non-sailor!) and a great example of the wealth of information and expertise available on this forum... worthy of some serious study! Spreadsheet looks good... P.S. J., is that Sausalito in the background of your gaff rig? Awesom...

Re: Klondike Build
Neel, Thanks for your kind compliments... I've greatly admired your Gentry and current PB 22 builds. I've pretty much used up my lifetime allotment of Kitchen Passes on this project, so seeing the results of your fine craftsmanship is about as close as I'm going to get to having a mahogany runabout!...

Re: Klondike Build
Thanks guys! Ken, having web access to pictures of production boat layouts has been a great help in organizing the helm... we've tried to emulate the best of what we could find. Jim, can't do much of anything until we get on the water. I don't want to end up like this: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1...

Re: Klondike Build
A brief update: We're going to need different equipment to make the move work... currently in the process of changing carriers. Not much can happen now until after first of the New Year. In the mean time, a couple of pics of the helm area. The watch berth is pretty snug but will work. Wheel is off a...

Re: Klondike Build
Andy, that's a great thought (and awesome pic!) but design weight is 34,000# so even with empty tanks we'd be too heavy... it would be pretty cool though if we could have pulled it off!
J.,thanks for your offer and kind compliment. I'll keep you in the loop...
