Re: LO VOLT Electric Motor System

Hi Bob, I built the Lo Voltage (Aqua Therapy) last year and am not satisfied with the electric drive unit at all...the gears in the lower unit ended up being very loud...even after rebuilding with new bearings...so onto drydock and rip it all out and go with a system with straight shaft like yours. ...

Re: Lo Voltage - "Aqua Therapy"

I am running a 36 volt system with a 12 Volt voltage reducer (ebay) for all the lighting, horn and actuator systems. I really can't remember how many amp hours my batteries are rated for as they are all put away for winter. Next time I'm near them I will check for you. As for the running time...grrr...

Re: Miss Chris plans

Great discussion on this topic, although I am not a fan of the hard tops. I've included a few vintage magazine clippings I bought off EBay and scanned for your perusal! One of them is of a Miss Chris :P Enjoy

Re: Miss Chris plans

Thanks guys for the info that you have provided! I guess the problem with building a boat that hasn't been popular to build is that there isn't the background info, pictures, details from other boat builders. Zip builders are lucky in that respect! I will try and pm Mr Gould and see if he has any mo...

Miss Chris plans

Does anyone have any pictures or info on the Miss Chris?  I noticed on the plans section there are pictures of Ken Gore`s boat flip, but nothing else.  Does anyone know him or his contact info. I am seriously considering this boat. I love the long sleek classic '30's look to it. It doesn't seem like...

Re: Lo Voltage - "Aqua Therapy"

For those that missed this info on my regular thread: Took Aqua Therapy out for her last run of the year at the cottage. I don't have a gps but I downloaded an app on my i phone that acts as a gps. It was a windy day but on average here are my Top speed numbers: 9.5 kmh...5.9 mph or 5.1 knots I was ...

Re: Lo Voltage - "Aqua Therapy"

We're slated to get rain till Sunday so I won't be taking her out till then. So when I get numbers I'll post them. Here is one last video of when I came to the cottage from the Launching Ramp. My girlfriend (partner) took it with her i-phone but held it vertically which looks weird. Oh well. http://...

Re: Lo Volt Willson Construction 10

Looking great and a great shot of the boat in the garage. Will your motor mount directly to the shaft, or will it be reduced with pulleys and belts?

Re: Lo Voltage - "Aqua Therapy"

Thanks for the Kudos. I think I loved building this boat for the mere fact is was something totally new to me yet using skills I had. I am proud and thankfull that I had the time to go ahead with the project and also had a supportive family and skillfull father (with the metal fabrication)! I would ...

Lo Voltage - "Aqua Therapy"

Well it's the Canadian Thanksgiving and we brought the Aqua Therapy to the cottage where I have been dying to try it out since receiving it back from the golf cart shop on Friday. Went in the water smoothly at the ramp and worked exactly as I wanted it to. I'm not too happy with the loud bearing noi...

Re: LO VOLT Willson Ark Construction 08

I watched the video about a hundred times and also read the book. I just did the Bi axial cloth on the interior over the fillets.... On the outside (bottom of boat when flipped over, I applied Bi axial over the seams, then faired the thickness of the cloth with the boat bottom with fairing compound....
