Made a form from 1/2" pink insulation. I hot glued and taped together. image_55415491.JPG I then hot glue...

Re: Malahini Transom dimensions

That is what I'm doing. Areas that will only be visible when I open a compartment or covered with upholstery are getting exterior ply instead of marine. Cheaper, plus it's available at my local lumber yard.

For those that might be interested (but why would you be), there is a Rhea County court house and Scopes Trial museum in Dayton. Also Dollywood is 2 hrs away.

Forge:

Love the video. She seemed to handle it well. Gives me hope of taking my Malahini around Sandy Hook into the Atlantic on calmer days. (If I ever finish her.)

Looking really cool. You probably mentioned it before, but what type of steering are you using?

Re: modified malahini

Gosh, that was a long time ago. I think I used a oscillating multi tool. If I remember correctly, I put tape on the blade to mark the depth. Even so, I did go through sub-layer once. I chiseled out the wood and epoxy. As far as the edges, I just sanded by hand to get the profile I wanted.

That's cool you are able to meet up with Ray and his wife. And two True Grits traveling together is awesome.

Thanks for the updates Curt. I love the Hudson. Really a picturesque river. Too bad you passed right through NYC. I would have liked to meet for lunch somewhere.

Re: 20ft Texas Barrel

Matt: It is a cool idea. I like how it blends into the bumpers on the side. In my opinion, it seems a little too long. I'd also would try to make the outer edges more resemble the curve of the deck ( Narrower at the aft portion than at the stern of the boat.) IMHO

Re: Outrage progress

You need to post your video on youtube. Then post a reply here. Above the box where you type, there is a link command (looks like a small section of chain). Put the youtube link between the two symbols that come up.
