Re: SEA KNIGHT
Thank you again guys all great suggestions. I am guilty of turning it over with the starter, didn't think about the possible impeller damage. I did pick up a new one but will have to learn how to replace it. I had replaced all fluid points, cap and rotter etc. I did a compression test and it looked ...

Re: SEA KNIGHT
Hello everyone, I just recently finished my basic electrical wiring hookups and although there are lots of things that would be nice to add to this build I have only to start the motor and haul it somewhere to see if she floats etc. Still getting pressure from my wife to just sell it and maybe that ...

Re: SEA KNIGHT
I managed to get almost all my electrical completed and it is all working so far. I've only to complete my bilge pump install (trying to decide where the lowest part of the boat might be since I have no idea how it will sit in the water). I also need to purchase an Antenna of some sort for the VHF r...

Re: SEA KNIGHT
I will use SS bolts and screws to install the seat as an assembly into the boat so I can remove it if needed.

Re: SEA KNIGHT
Thank you Jimmy for the suggestion. I have worked a little on the aft bench seat with basic supports made and ready for varnishing. I will collect some more African Mahogany for the slates that will be the seat bottom and will have to decide on some kind of supports on the port/starboard ends as wel...

Re: SEA KNIGHT
Hi Carl, That does make some sense. I am not totally sure now. I just noticed how heavy that battery was when I brought it home and lugged it into my backyard to the boat. I think I may have stretched my right arm 6", lol. My thoughts are to keep as much heavy weight at the COB.

Re: SEA KNIGHT
Not sure where to mount the battery, forward is prefered and the locker I was considering is rather small and might not fit the battery and a portable toilet. Maybe a locker which could double as a foot rest for the port side seat.? included a photo of my helm wiring challenges. 62087521_37341824686...

Re: SEA KNIGHT
Thanks guys, for the time being I just bought a battery and box for the boat and can proceed with running electrical wiring etc. I would like to mount the battery box up in the cabin if possible to move the weight up there (about 12' run). It might fit nice on the port side in the toilet cupboard. I...

Re: SEA KNIGHT
Well I am back at it again although I have had thoughts of selling or trading away my project. It is nearly completed with only electrical hookups preventing it from going in the water. Also I would need to repair my old ford truck to pull her. And then there is the problem of moving it out of the b...

Re: General outboard questions
Picked up another complete powerhead for the Bearcat with pertronix ignition as well, Kind of wish I had the short shaft leg it was mounted on as well as they are harder to come by and would be nice if I decide to build the Malahini, it is the one on its side, the other white one I have had as a spa...

Re: General outboard questions
Thanks Billy C. I have been told the original used a chrysler style fuel hookup which I think is what I bassically have at this point. I like your thought though on the line direct to the filter.

Re: General outboard questions
Since this is my first experience with an outboard motor, does anyone see any problem with my fuel line plumbing? It was kind of time consuming trying to decide and install some kind of attachment fittings. I finally settled on this quick connect setup.
