Yes, stuart......it's looking real good......can't wait to see pics of it when you have it done and in the water.........mine starts next year with launching in two years time.....to celebrate a federal and provincial NDP Government.

Okay, I may well be starting a Francis Drake build next spring or summer. My main question is, how long may it take to complete a build of this type, being an amateur builder (first timer)? have you checked noah's marine supplies???? they have every thing from lumber and plywood to epoxies and fasteners...and their prices are reasonable. Based in ontario.....so they are close to you

Not sure how this hull would perform in "atlantic ocean" currents, or even the wind conditions we tend to get up here in the north atlantic. I've always been a bit weary of such shallow drafts in deep water......the trailerable part of it is nice......as that would allow me to take it to my brother'...

I too agree that it wouldn't be a deterrent. I am hoping that there are francis drake sails available, as this is the project I will be starting in the new year. With a new baby on the way, I want to have something they will grow into and be proud to sail for years to come and say their dad built it...
