Re: Sun shade on a squirt?
Couldn't you build one out of, say 1/2" elect conduit? You can buy the fittings and bend the tubing to any shape you want. I've never done it, but I think I'd try. I may give it a go on our Squirt next spring when we get back form MX.

Re: Zip r/c model
Can't believe I didn't think of this as I race RC Hydros. Just started cutting out the pieces today and will start the build tomorrow after I get some basswood. Thanks for the idea Vupilot..

Re: Varnish over epoxy
I was just wondering what the epoxy looks like when too much UV gets to it and what we should look for? Does the epoxy begin to turn a darker brown or begin to bubble?

Re: New Builder Building a squirt
Squirt's first bath. SUP, Malco, is done so my wood projects are coming to an end. Eyeballing the rampage for next spring.

Re: Buffing out last coat of varnish
Roberta, do you think I can get by with just the 5000 grit or is the 3000 first needed? And I see there are several different Perfect-It rubbing compounds. Do you remember which one you used?

Re: Buffing out last coat of varnish
Thanks Roberta. I remember a thread where you mentioned your process but I can't remember where I saw it. I'll look for the items you mentioned.

Buffing out last coat of varnish
Do any of you buff out the varnish? I still have some specks in the finish and was thinking buffing it out would work, but I've never buffed out varnish before.

Re: Varnish over epoxy
I'm using Pettit Z Spar Captain's 1015 and I'm really liking it. I did let the epoxy cure for at least 2 weeks. In the heat we're having the 1015 is dry ib a few hours.
