Re: Well, I bought my first revolver.
My favorite gun is the Springfield Armory XD 40 but I prefer to carry my Kahr 9mm.

Re: Concerning fiberglass
I just watched GlenL's video on fiber glassing and and they showed using fiber glass tape on the keel and chine areas. Is this just on stitch ad glue boats? I ask because in the fiber glassing kit for my boat, they don't show any tape included.

Re: New Builder Building a squirt
We did talk about building it in the basement but I thought it'd be better out back in my shop. Snowed today so too cold to work out there now.

Re: New Builder Building a squirt
I drew out the frames on the plywood then used nails to hold the pieces in place. Someone else building a Squirt had pictures using wood blocks which I think is better and I'll use that method on my next boat. But this worked. Now I need to finish sand to get everything evened out and pretty. Since ...

Re: New member
Welcome to the forum Fabio. Where in the Yucatan are you? We have a home in Paamul, about 20 km south of Playa del Carmen. We've started building the Squirt and have a lot to learn too, but would love to meet you if you're close enough and see your project. I, Ron, leave for Paamul in about 6 weeks ...

Re: New Builder Building a squirt
I wish I had heat out there. I'm working in my garage out in the back of the lot (we are on an acre). No heat and no insulation. Maybe some day, but like you Rod, I'm retired and the wife is taking an early out the end of January 2014. I keep bringing her job apps and telling her that I have my need...

New Builder Building a squirt
This is my first REAL boat and I'm really looking forward to the build. I have the form up and frames ready to epoxy, but the weather just went cold here. I'm using the West Systems epoxy instead of Glen L's only because West Marine is only 25 miles from me and that makes things very handy. The hard...

Re: Bittersweet I sold my boat
I had tears as I watched the Cessna I had for 15 years fly off. Not to mention the plane I built. Now I'm building a boat. Life goes on.

Re: Newbie from Utah
Rod.....it seems I can't PM you yet. Guess I need to hang out here more to get permission. I did check out Intermountain Wood Prod. in SLC today. Looks like they should have what I will need. Also checked out West Marine for their epoxy. I hear their stuff is very good. I'd rather get as much stuff ...

Re: Newbie from Utah
I built the little Kitfox IV. It's a fun little plane. I owned C-172 for 15 years and loved it. A simple airplane but still IFR certified.

Newbie from Utah
I started sailing in grade school, racing my little El Toro. Been around sail and power boats off and on through out my life, including 2 years on board a destroyer (I guess that counts as water time). I build and fly RC airplanes and have just finished my first RC boat ( a hydroplane). I have also ...
