Bill, I, too, have lost the reasoning with my second oldest son on this issue. I tell him to be very careful who he friends and what he says on there, but he throws caution to the wind. yup I am with Bill, mine is not from the big box store either. In another life I used to sell Fiberglass and Resins. Interplastics Corp and Bean Fiberglass. We sold quite a bit of paintable gelcoat to the Maine boatbuilders.

Talkk to your supplier....tell him you want "paintable gelcoat" he will know exactly what you want and you will be able to paint it on and it will cure just fine!
