Seth, I have no experience with the bullet, but Glen L has a chart that does a pretty good job of predicting speed based on power/weight ratio. https://www.glen-l.com/how-fast/ Based on 800lbs gross weight and a 30 hp motor you will probably hit your 30mph target. Best of luck with your build. Biss
I haven't had any issues with my fuel line so far, but Ive only run maybe 25 gal thru it! I used Sierra Shields Silverado 4000 Outboard Fuel Line. I didn't put anything in line from the tank to the motor. I probably should have, but there is already a filter on the motor so i didn't. I haven't had a...
Harness: merc 84-896537A15 Ignition switch: merc 893353A02 Kill switch w lanyard: Sea Dog 420488-1 I wasnt real sure about the ignition switch when I was doing this, but it works great and has an accessory position. It also has a nice key with merc logo :D I also considered making my own wiring harn...
Been awhile since I checked in on this one. It is really comming along. Your planking looks really good. On my boat I have a painted hull so I used fairing compound (Totalfair) all over it! That stuff works great. Keep posting pics, we all like to see the progress!
Your boat is looking great! I too like the look of the raised front edge. Will you be placing any cleats up front. If so you may need to allow enough room to mount them on the raised portion. If you don't, seems like the lines would chafe the raised edge. Just a thought. Oh, making that little coami...

Looks like the same controls I'm using. Seems to work fine and it connected right to the mercury harness. I purachased the harness from ebay as well (used). Ill try to hunt down the part number for the harness and ignition switch that i used.
Looking really good. The dash is great, with a real classic look. I think you will really like the 60hp merc. I have absolutely no complaints with mine, and it is a really good match for the Malahini. It starts right up everytime and only sips gas! Super quiet too. Are you installing the motor yours...

Looking really cool. Sorry to hear about your solenoid issue. Had something similar happen to me on an ATV. All the generic replacements were junk. Hopefully the original will continue to work. Can't wait to see it in the water!
Thank you for the compliments! So we are thinking about the gathering; just not sure we can fit it in this year. We'll see. What will I build next...I think I'm going to finish my 20x30 addition to the shop. Poured a slab last summer, just need to build the addition. I plan to make it into a proper ...

Yep, same thing happed at Lake Catherine, AR a month or so ago. Explosion at the boat ramp when launching. Several were burned and air lifted to the hospital.
After a year of construction, we launched our Malahini the "Jamie Lou" on July 8, 2019 in Hot Springs, Arkansas at Lake Catherine. I couldn't have asked for a better launch! Really proud of how the boat turned out and was really pleased with the overall performance. Below is a link to a video of our...
