Anyone keep their boat on a floating or hydraulic lift ?

We have a 24ft deep covered boat slip with a FloatAir floating lift. If I go through with building one of these boats, I would be interested in keeping it on the lift. Since it is a floating lift, it basically has a floor below and no water is splashing onto the hull. The dock is covered and I would...

Chris, thanks for the pics. Your boat turned out great. I had been following your blog when you were building it. Congratulations it is a beautiful boat.

Re: Roberta's ZIP

Wow, I just came back to this site after several months. I skipped to the end and see your finished hull and I must say that is beautiful work! Now I have to start from page 1.

Zip capacity question

For all you Zip owners, I would like to know about the interior room. I built a wood kayak last year and I got the fever. I keep coming back to the Zip and the Malahini. The Zip could be built in my 3-car garage and allow me to keep at least one car in there. I just wonder about the actual room insi...

Re: Finally starting on the boat!

You guys are definitely hard core. I wanted to buy the Zip or Malahini frame kit and then do the rest myself. When it comes to kit boats, Chris Craft was king from what I've read and they sold the complete package, not just the frames. James Craft still does. The following info is from Wooden Boat M...

Bimini Top for Zip?

Has anyone installed a Bimini top on their Zip? If I buy or build a Zip, I'll need to find some sort of shade solution. We have lost a couple of friends to Melanoma and we take exposure to UV Rays seriously. I don't want an array of folding aluminum supports all over my wooden boat and I'm wondering...

Robert,
That boat is stunning! Building it in less than a year to that quality is an inspiration to us all.

Re: Is Don Witherspoon still an active member here?

Chris is correct. It is absolutely boat related. When searching his name I only came up with references to him made by others. I assume he posted under a different user name. His photos are still in the customer photo section, but I can find nothing else. From what I've read, he sold the Zip a few y...

He built a Zip, sold it and started on a Malahini. I'd like to ask him some questions about his Zip.
Thanks,
Jeff

Frame Kits

Does anyone know if frame kits are still available for the Zip? The site says some kits are available and those are listed in the catalog. When I look at the Zip, I see no mention of a frame kit being available, so I suspect not.

Does anyone have a photo of a Squirt with two adults seated?

This is my first post here. I'm considering a Squirt or a Zip. I've seen lots of pictures of Squirts, but none with two adults riding. I think the reason is obvious
