Re: How did you find Glen-L?
I was searching the web for wooden boats and came across Mark Bronkalla's Riviera site, which in turn lead me here.

Re: Making progress on my Monaco.
I personally don't think the uprights distract from the look. In fact, I think they add to the look of the overall package. You could dress them up a bit if you wanted, perhaps add lights to the tops, but probably not necessary. On the factory trailer that came with our ski boat, the uprights are c...

Things to do in Michigan
I'm going to be in Detroit for a business meeting, and if I have any spare time I'd like to check out something wooden boat related. Not sure if the builder is a regular on the forum, but you can see more pics of the build in the Glen-L Boatbuilding Galleries. It's all the way at the bottom of the Monaco builds. Someone posted a link on the Woody Boater site, and Gayle commented as well.

Re: Increasing the planing surface with a swim deck
I could be missing something here, but all the swim platforms I've seen only contact the water when the boat is sitting still or at idle speed. Once you accelerate, the water is still being displaced (pushed down) by the hull and doesn't get back to lake level until a few feet after the platform. In...

Re: Surge Brakes for a Zip? WT..?
Is that a manual lock-out for backing? Our trailer doesn't have that, so I had to get a flat 5-pin adapter for my '08 F150 in order to back the trailer. Without it, if there was any resistance (such as an incline or soft ground) the surge brakes would kick in and lock the trailer down when I tried t...
