It's coming along nicely chubs. You'll need a boat with all that rain you guys have had.

Re: Pee wee build in Sydney

Looking pretty good so far chubs. I also screwed my frames to the building form. That way nothing moves.

Re: Pee Wee Build

Gday all. Just put a few pictures of my latest modification to LIL INSANE. After a few outings I noticed the back of the boat filling up with a bit of water. So I had some spare time on my hands after Christmas and a crazy idea to fit a small bilge pump. Ive got a little carried away on this build b...

Re: Pee wee build in Sydney

Cheers chubs. If you have any dramas along the way I may be able to help. The metric conversion thing is a pain the the arse especially with our wood sizing. I just winged it in the end lol. Great to see you have finally started. At least you have a work area. LIL INSANE was mostly built under a gra...

Re: Squirt Build in Australia

I also used a lot of Tas Oak but it can become quite costly. Sourcing suppliers for timber, fittings, controls etc was the major factor in my boat taking so long to build.
Good luck :)

Re: Peewee keel?

I can't remember the exact size of mine. I can measure it if you want but I had the same issue. In the end I just made it to what I thought. Seems to work very well.

Re: need transom and motor help

I had similar problem when I first trial mounted my long shaft Mercury. The solution I found was a to fit a short shaft motor instead ( luckily for me the short shaft I found had added hp lol ) As for cable length I was able to buy a teleflex ss137 steering setup in 8 foot for my peewee from the sta...

Re: Porpoising help

I had a huge problem with porpoising on my PeeWee. Largely due to not having enough weight in the front. Even with me mounting the fuel tank up front and moving the seat forward it still occurred. Lead weights helped alot but slowed me down. My solution was I made trim tabs and put a wedge between t...

Re: Pee Wee Build

Managed another weekend out with LIL INSANE. Water was a tiny bit choppy but still got it up to 25mph (40kph). Planes beautiful now. So much fun. Turns unbelievable.

Re: AG2 Gathering - Where this year?

I would have loved to attend with LIL INSANE but due to being away from the site for sometime ( due to technical difficulties ) and only just finding out about the gathering, plus the distance I won't be able to make it. :(

Re: Pee Wee Build

G'day guys, it's been a long time since I've been back but I'm happy to report I finally got some more testing done on LIL INSANE this past weekend. Apart from getting my ute bogged at the lake, the boat preformed beautifully. My original problem of porpoising and slow to get on a plane were solved ...

Re: Pee Wee Build

Sorry about the picture orientation :( So after my launch and trail run a couple of weeks ago I came home and redesigned A few things. I added my own designed trim tabs, added more angle to the outboard with wedges and moved the seating position forward more. By far the biggest challenge surprisingl...
