Re: Bob's Geronimo Anchor question
Thanks a lot, guys. I ended up with a 6lb danforth anchor (cheap), 8 ft of galvanized 1/4" chain and 90 ft of 3/8 braided line. Basically this is just for an emergency in case I lose power. Bob

Bob's Geronimo Anchor question
Howdy, been a long time since I posted, I finished my Geronimo in April 2018, had it out about forty times; not much lately need shoulder surgery. We spent one great week at a lake in northern ca at a cabin with a pier, all the rest of the trips are 2hr outings on San Diego bay which is mostly sandy...

Re: Bob's Geronimo, a year later
Hi Matt, what special tools are you using building the windshield? I still have my windshield pane patterns (plywood) so I think I can get the arc right on the bottom of the windshield. Don't have a bandsaw or planer but I may invest in a router table. Bob

San Francisco Bay
Maybe this goes under "Trip Reports" but here goes. I have a 16foot Geronimo runabout with 90hp motor, a great boat. Lots of fun in San Diego Bay but a little iffy outside the harbor. I would really love to take my wife and dog and spend a couple days on San Francisco Bay. Ideally we could find a pl...

Bob's Geronimo, a year later
Howdy, been following Matt's Geronimo thread and the topics of what I'd do different and windshields came up so here's my two cents. I went with the aluminum castings from Eerie foundry as I'd seen a lot of other builders use; I spent a lot getting them triple chrome plated and had 1/4" tempered gla...

Re: Flotation foam
Howdy I built the geronimo and used pour in place foam extensively; I finished her (Aagatha) last April and have had her out about thirty times since then, almost always on San Diego Bay which usually has a chop on it. First reason I did this is for flotation, don't have the numbers handy but I pour...

Re: Matt's Geronimo
Hi Matt, I run my Geronimo in salt water mostly so I give a good flushing both ways  ,i.e., I run it with the muffs on for five minutes then screw the garden hose into that fitting and run it a couple more minutes. The evinrude mechanic said the muffs work better cause the fitting gets boogared...

Re: Boat Cover Batten wood?
Howdy, I had a badly bowed mahogany floor board i saved and put 1x1 oak along the sides for rigidity, to make a backbone for the cover. My generic cover still sagged between the windshield and rear seat so before I cover it I lay a 3'x4' piece of 1/4"ply on each side, they lay on the oak lip and are...

Re: Bob's Geronimo, scuffed hull help
Hey thanks a lot Roberta and Billy! No, I haven't scoured down to the primer, I think I only went down enough to leave the flat blue scuff mark - probably not even enough for prepping for a third coat. While I was doing this I used the pad and hot soapy water trying to rub it off, and was mindful of...
