17' Whitehall Planking

I’m building the 17’ Whitehall and started planking at the sheer because I want the planks to run parallel with the sheer as it'll be a clear finish. I'm at the point of frustration as I have spent the last few days trying to figure out how to install the last 15 or so planks as they must attach firmly to the keel. The planks are bead and cove, but the final plank attaching to the keel must be a flat. At the stem and transom the planking is near the top leaving the last fifteen or so which must be individually shaped and tapered (shorter and shorter) to the final plank? How do I fit these planks while glueing (epoxy) and fitting properly to the keel? I really appreciate any advice as this is my first attempt at building a boat.

Search for videos on strip canoes or kayaks. It sounds like you are trying to do the same thing they are doing.
