Kids WaterSports

Post by kens »

Earlier I mentioned to another member how I grew up on the banks of the Ohio River, and another post about pulling a tube.
I was a local 'river rat' or, Huckleberry Finn sort of kid with a little outboard boat. That boat after school was the rule of the day.
We pulled tubes, barn doors, piece of plywood, you name it, if it would float, or skim the water, we pulled it/rode it.
This one adventure beat them all though. it evolved in several steps over several days;
1. find your dad's best sheet of good plywood,
2. cut a 48" disk out the exact center of it, not one end, right in the middle
3. find you dad's best quality paint and make said disk quite colorful
4. use his best animal hair brushes while you're at it, dont skimp here,
5. siphon gas out of dad's truck for the outboard motor
6. fall off the disk, and it trips up into the air and comes down on top of you, in middle of said river,
7. on the way to the Doctor office, dad say "where the hell you get that GD damned thing"?
8. Dad late for work, truck out of gas
9.bruises eventually heal
10. dad figures it all out, bruises come back

Ah yes, the joys of kids water sports !!!
Oak..........the juice ain't worth the squeeze :D :shock: :o :)
