Applying epoxy in deep holes

Post by Jimbob »

I got an idea this weekend that I thought I would share.
I was racking my brain trying to figure out how get epoxy into a deep hole that I drilled in my transom that I wanted to encapsulate . I ended up using a shotgun cleaning swab and it worked great. Pic below of the setup.

I love how you keep coming up with these cool tips Jim! What's neat about this is that as a person who doesn't own any guns, I would never have thought of something like this.

I used a piece of rope saturated with resin, and pulled it thru the hole.
also made a dowel rod with cut grooves around it, sort of like a honey dipper, and wipe the hole with it.
Oak..........the juice ain't worth the squeeze :D  :o :)
