Since your are a distibutor, I was curious if you had a model for a 40footer i.e. the Yankee Star?
Also, if the sailboat is under sail and the prop is turning, can the motor be used a a generator?
Thanks,
Fernao

I am working on becoming the authorized dealer for electro prop here in newfoundland. I am looking forward to having one installed in the boat too.....and running everything off the battery bank that will also power the engine......

Re: Electric motors
Sorry I haven't seen your post until now. What is the displacement of your vessel? Up to 22,000 lbs the recommendation is our Quiet Torque 20.0, 400amp, 20kw with 300AH minimum. List price for the system is $8395.00
Taken from company literature.
The QuietTorque™ 20.0 is recommended for boats up to 42’ (LOA) and 22,000lbs displacement. Typically, replacing diesel engines in the 25-50 hp range. It has a maximum input power of 20kW powered by a 48Vdc battery bank. Typical battery size is 300Ah, or more, at 48Vdc.
Our kit is very complete and includes everything you will need except batteries, battery cables and charger.
The prop would not generate enough rpms to charge the system effectively. You would need either an onboard generator, a hybrid system coupling the electric with your current engine, or charge at dockside. Your cruising range on a charge will depend on your desired speed and Ah of your system. You could also purchase solar cells or a wind generator; but they are expensive.

Re: Electric motors
What would be your recommendation for and electric motor system for the Glen-L Harbormaster?
What would be an estimate of the price for a motor, controller and charger?
Thanks,
Scott
