I like Summit Racing, too. Have one about 20 minutes away. Their stuff found its way into both the planes I built and two of the boats.

I think Ken nailed it.

Matt - I accidentally froze the engine block in the boat and have to get a new one.

No grass grows under your feet! Gettin' it before everyone else in your area figures out they have cracked blocks too.

Busted engine is out, came out no problem. I’ll start building up the new block tomorrow.

I thought the old one looked like aluminum block, maybe a picture lighting quality thing.
Now the new one looks like alum block/heads.

Is it??

Build complete and installed, Fired right up. I set 10 degrees of initial timing and she’s running about 35 degrees of total timing at 3000 rpm.
With engine bolted in, I hoisted the whole boat up by the engine while it was still strapped to the gantry and slid the trailer back the last 6 inches. I needed the space to build the winch tower and install the Cutwater.
It was an unplanned $3,000 setback, that’s for sure. There is also a great comfort that comes from building ones own engine.
Now back to getting this boat in the water !!
