I plan on doing my own upholstery as well. I have been watching youtube videos by Cechaflo. Lots of good instruction on making pleats.

Thanks Jamie, that would be a help.

I hadn't seen any Cechaflo videos. I check out a few, amazing work. I'll be ready for those videos someday. Right now I'm just trying to protect my digits from that pointing thing that goes up and down so fast. Looking at the manual, the pointing thing might be a needle, not sure.

The forward sole is in. The Meranti on the left and Okoume on the right will have a vinyl or carpet covering. The 12" wide area above the keel will be used for storage and will be made after the seats have been figured out. Tom

Nice job! Not easy to fit those sole panels.

those sole panels are lovely! I used plywood and will cover them with something. Not sure what yet.

I do remember those may have taken and entire weekend to put in!

The sole panels can chew up a clock for sure, cope to fit the frames and then relieve the underside for battens and the curve of the hull. I still need to add reinforcements along the outside edge to stiffen the panels. If I was doing it again I would use 3/4" plywood for stiffness rather than the spec'd 1/2".

The dash template is almost done. This is version three. The gauge holes are a little too close together and no switch holes, but close enough to let me move forward with the sub deck.

This is the final version of the dash, adjusting holes and adding switches. I made a bezel diameter hole for the ignition switch, not helpful.

Thanks Matt, that's the inspiration. I'm planning to wrap/crash pad the edge of the "eye brow". Tom

What's your plan for the rest of the deck? Are you doing a "utility" layout?

Dash will be as unique as the transom.

Jim,

I'm headed toward a utility...except I have the exhaust coming out the sides, so it won't be traditional.

Thanks Matt.

I had a piece of Santos Mahogany left over from another project. Now its a dash!

Santos has a spicy smell and makes the shop smell better. :D :D

I have been thinking about a "glove box" under the port cowl. What do you think?

Glove box would look nice. I usually screw a shiny grab handle on the passenger side of the dash, mostly because at this stage of the build I’m closing in on the finish line and a glove box would take too long.
