Tahoe Skeg?

Tahoe - optional skeg. Pros & Cons?

Do you fair the keel for a flat spot before covering or cover it, then fair it for a flat spot later?

If you just want to cruise, the skeg will improve tracking. If you want tight fast turns, you may not want the skeg.

Fair the flat spot first. It's only an inch or so wide. If you decide on skeg, the flat spot it is no big deal.

Make it shorter and cut it off further from the stern.

Or I was thinking of reducing the height, does that make sense?

That piece scales out to ~ 69 1/2" long on a stretched Tahoe, how short would you cut it?
