Re: New Builder Building a squirt
Looks good! I probably should've done something like your paint booth... but I didn't.
I'm sure your effort will pay off!

Your Squirt looks great, the fit and finish of your joints makes mine look like I used a chainsaw. Well done.
Are you going to install a skeg or fin on the bottom?

Not planning on it Matt, but we'll see how she turns when I get her in the water. And thanks for the kind words

Squirt's first bath. SUP, Malco, is done so my wood projects are coming to an end. Eyeballing the rampage for next spring.

Hi Ron,
Your Squirt looks great! Can you elaborate on your finish, it looks like a mirror?
The vintage Johnson looks great as well, is it an 18hp? If so, I'd love to hear about the performance since I have a 18hp Johnson for mine. Did you buy the motor already restored, or did you do the work yourself?
Sorry for all the questions.

Been a long time, but she got wet and ready for her first run. Damn old motor crapped out so she never left the dock. Going out today to find a new motor.

Boat looks great. Been there with old outboards, it’s a constant up hill battle, best used as a wall hanger. Yamaha makes a new light weight 25 hp that would be perfect.

That old motor should run forever. Probably something simple that a little TLC will take care of.

I get it running good one day and then the next time it's a no go. Starter went out and I'm too old to hand crank it. Going out today for a new one.
