Re: Pee wee build in Sydney
Ah yes thanks a lot. 6mm it is. I share chug's concerns re glueing the frame to the skin, so I'll wait post-skinning to paint the frame. Cheers all

I used the 1/4 ply for the planking. I also did what chugalug suggested, I epoxy sealed the entire frame before planking and then painted afterwards. Your travelling well Chubs.

I also sealed my frames before applying the plywood skins. I did this after the frames were assembled but before they were put on the building form. I did leave the edges unsealed because I wanted to wait to do that when I added the skins. In general, look at your assembly before moving into a new phase and think about what might be easier to do before going to that next step. However, always consider if this is the best thing to do at that time. A thinking chair and a cold one are your best friends at these times.

So I ended up sealing the frame with oil based enamel, "better done than perfect":

Then I positioned the side panel with clamps to make sure it covered all corners when bent around. Only just fit:

Trimmed the panel with my new jigsaw, still can't believe the Bosch died:

Yes chug I'd be gluing to the painted chines. Hopefully will stick as well as it would to bare wood.

I glue to all frames and battens. I only screw to the sheer, chine, keel, stem, and transom.

I used Thixo or West Six 10. They are 2 part in a caulking cartridge. Just run a bead on the frame (etc.). Then spread it with a tongue depressor. It ain't cheap. It's a lot easier and faster than mixing it yourself, though.

It's looking more and more like a boat every post
I also glued and screwed to my frames. Wasn't sure if that was right but seems to work. Although I didnt glue to paint. Not sure how that will work. It's surely coming along though. Good work.
