jet zip

Post by behrendt »

Has anyone put a jet ski engine in a Zip? If so what size motor and how does it perform. I have read the stories/how too's for putting one in a Squirt. I have an old SeaDoo and want a boat bigger than the Squirt. I bought the plans to build a Tahoe but thought I would try a smaller boat first. The Zip seams to give me a lot of the techniques I will use on building the Tahoe. I would appreciate any info. you can give.

Thanks Michael, That helps me a great deal. After reading the post I now have more questions. Things I never thought about are brought to light. It never accured to me that I would have a step in the hull. The transition between the ski platform and the Zip hull seems to be a major concern. I need to do a lot more research on the intake and pump area of the ski.
