If you can only find 15 minutes a day, you will get to the finish line

Re: Slither build in GA
That's why i am going to start the cradle build. I am also considering to flip now and paint the sides later. But that depends on the forward cradle brace I believe and whether it is on the bottom paint or the side. I am not sure that I would trust the boat to not tip up if I was standing the the bow without a bow brace

Steve, I built a separate brace for the bow because I had the same concern. It is easily removed when it is time to do things like side paint and cutwater.

Hey Brian
Do you have a picture of your cradle? I am looking for the general layout and your removable front brace is just the ticket

Steve, When I get home I will take one and post it. It is rough, but does the job.

Re: Slither build in GA
Thanks Brian
I was not thinking about a separate stand but one attached to the rest of the cradle.
I am in the garage with inches to spare. The HOA would never approve of a tent that could be seen from the street!
Chug, not just a mask for me. My wife says I have to mask the storage in the garage as the Christmas decoration boxes were covered in Dust!! Still trying to figure out how to get plastic sheeting over the boxes when I have to stand on the boat to get to them and cannot reach the top of the stack.

Steve, If you look, the stand doesn't extend past the front of the bow. It shouldn't add any length to your build. When I had the boat in my garage, the stand would slide a little, so I attached it to the rest of the cradle with a ratchet strap. On the dirt floor it stays more secure. Can't offer any suggestions for your storage problem.

Here is the cradle I built for my Monaco. It is 12 feet long and the boat is almost 20 feet long so it hangs off the front about 7 feet. I know a Monaco is a bigger boat than you are building but I have been in the front and I have never had a hint of tipping. Now I haven't been way up to the very front but I try to avoid that anyway since I can reach things from the outside.
I don't think you will have any issues with tipping. Just some thoughts.

Thanks Lee
I will have about 10 feet with an 8 foot overhang so I think a front brace will be needed. But I like the design

There's like 10 months til the Christmas decorations are needed again. Let your future self worry about that.
