Hi all,

Well today was the day, we re launched the Belle, tipped the bubbly over the bow and a quick swig for me.

Video attached of the first steady pass after launching.

A friend of mine jumped in and we went for a few runs and put it through some paces, all was good.

Wife and kids hopped in and we all run around the dam with no issues. We gave her a run up to 35 mph and thought that will do. When I backed her off she stalled, hit the key and didn’t want to start.

Long story short is that my carby is now over fueling, we managed to start up and limp back to the ramp and load her up.

Not sure what is going on as it was running so good.

Going to investigate but may just bite the bullet and throw on a new carby.

All in all no one was hurt, no damage and fun to drive.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Looks great!!! :D

Could be float stuck, angle too steep for setting, or leaking needles. Don't know what carb but Holley's are easy to check and adjust.

I have this 570CFM Holley Marine Avenger on my 327

Do you have an angle plate so the carb is string flat?

Congratulations Jamie on the second launch. Glad this one was safe. Watching the video, I was reminded when I help Skip launch his Monaco a few years back. That was a great day. I am sure you feel the same way.

Thanks,

I am running a Quadrajet at the moment, have been looking at biting the bullet and buying a new 750 Holley Marine, will be about $1,000 by the time I get the adapter plate, carby and fuel rail. But think I will go with that as they are nice and simple.

Leaving my run late to get one before Xmas though!

Well done Jamie. Hope I get to see it in the flesh next year.

New carby arrived today along with a new pump for the velvet drive as I discovered I had fluid in the bottom of the hull again!

Am hoping that the new pump is the issue as there are no other visible leaks anywhere.

Going to fit everything up and hope to take her out on Monday or Tuesday.

Tony,

I will be bringing her down to Bundaberg sometime in the new year and I am going to make sure I organise a Gathering this year.

Thanks Carl,

On Boxing Day the weather looked a bit gloomy but we took the Belle out for a run at the dam.

Little bit of wind but not too bad, dam was busy though.

Anyway we run the Belle in the dam for a bit over three straight hours with no issues.

New carby worked well, and leak in the transmission gone!

We towed all the kids in turn on the tube and also towed out first skier.

Gave her a few harder runs up over 49mph and all went well.

I am so happy that we got that run in as it has been raining since, bit over 300mm or 12 inches.

Forecast is to be getter better over the next couple of days and we will have a drone to get good footage.
