I'm loving your choice of a wood frame windshield. That's going to set it off nicely.
Re: Matt's Geronimo
Agree - the Geronimo is similar in look and size to the Mist Miss that I'm working on. The wooden windshield will look great but is daunting!

Matt!
I saw the pictures of your boat on SV Seeker's latest video "Plasma Cutting and Welding TIG and MIG". Looking good

Cool. I posted pics on their Facebook group.
Re: Matt's Geronimo
I drilled for the new bow eye. It is ever so slightly off-center but I am not going to worry about that and it is much better. There is even room for the safety chain now. The old bow eye was just not a good idea. It is just a poor design. It loosens itself and was already loose when I took it out today. I just need to seal everything up and do a little touch-up paint. I will put a little blue thread locker on whenever I install it for good.
Re: Matt's Geronimo
Cool Matt. How far does it extend past the stem? Mine should be here Thursday?
Re: Matt's Geronimo
Carl, there's more than enough to go through the stem and thread the nuts on.
Re: Matt's Geronimo
So what size (Length and dia) did you order and where did you get it from?
Re: Matt's Geronimo
Thanks Carl. I need one of those too.
Re: Matt's Geronimo
I needed a little flat spot for the new bow eye. So to seal it up I decided to go ahead and lay in a little piece of cloth rather than just a slather of epoxy. I'm trying to keep the area that I need to touch op as small as possible. I should probably sand out a larger area and feather in a bigger piece of cloth but I'm not going to. Plus, believe it or not, I'm not actually getting water in this area very often.
Re: Matt's Geronimo
That should help seal it up well and that bow eye will be much better.

Re: Matt's Geronimo
I had the boat out twice last week while we had a little preview of some warmer weather. The new bow eye is 100% better. It's good not to have to worry about that now. Plus there is room for the safety chain thingy as well as the winch strap hook.
I have started some interior additions. One will be port and starboard boxes between frames two and three. They will accommodate speakers, cupholders and a small storage box. I have also made a mount for the "marine" receiver that will mount under the dash. I had a look inside the receiver. It is not water-resistant in the slightest on the inside. I can see where the faceplate might be. So I wanted to mount it where rain can't get to it. This precluded some of the other ideas I had for mounting it. But I'm liking this spot. It is now in reach of the navigator. Does anybody have any suggestions?
