Some years ago I worked as a travelling contractor, lived in cheap hotels, RV spaces to save my per diem.
One job site in south Florida is close to a marina that had a few RV spots in the front of marina. I got a RV space. This was one of the few marina that let you work on your own boat. I noticed that several folks had purchased a old trawler or sailboat, put it up on the hard, and started their own refurbishments. Well for some, the refurbishments went on for years, electric/water hookups were somewhat psuedo permanent, lawn chairs, plastic grass, cableTV wire, BBQ grills,
in reality they were "living aboard", but they were on the hard at the same time.
Yep, they were land yachts......
