Console Skiff Build - Console Placement

Post by nkalson »

I'm thinking of installing the console a foot forward of where plans indicate to gain more room behind the console. What effect do you think this will have on planning, broaching, overall performance? I will use the boat in protected waters and in the Pacific up to around 8ft swells depending on wind.
Thanks,
NK

If you have power trim on the engine I don't think you would even notice.

I think it will actually help it. The two I have seen run seemed to do better with a little weight up forward.
