Safety tether is a good idea...if you can get back on the boat...can't reach the rail? can't lift yourself? you'll be trolling close to the boat. On the bright side, they'll know who was using the boat last :( I use the can. I have life jackets and a dead man switch to give me a chance to stay close to the boat...not that I ever use them.

Back to the Boat Show...dripping with testosterone...The door in the transom make perfect sense...back the boat into the slip, party, never leave the dock, just what you need. Tom

safety tether???
What?
tether to what?, the boat?
Such that the boat can drag you along and drown you?

Kind of reminds me of the safety harness recommended for deer hunting.
They say you need a safety harness secured to the tree that your climbing deer stand is in.
such that if your deer stand fails, or, you fall out of your stand, you got the safety harness to save you.
Save you from what?
Who gonna come get you?
Who you gonna call?
You already hiked far, far, away from anybody, so as to get away from everybody, just to go deer hunting where there is nobody else around.
that's where deer are supposed to be.
Who you gonna call when hanging from the so-called 'safety harness' ???

Tether to a shut off switch like a (pardon the expression) jet ski.

My fishing boat has one of these on the outboards. www.ebay.com/p/Mercury-Quicksilver-87-1 ... 0987916797 I don't use it much. I have also ran a jack line stem to stern with a tether, gives me room to roam but is short enough to catch me as I am about to go for a swim. Tom

This is what I was thinking about, a shut-off. You don't want to be hanging off the stern with an outboard blender.

Bill, That's what I call trolling too close to the boat, if you're luck, chumming, if you're not. Tom

Fell marine MOB+

Everyone on the boat has a wrist band. If anyone falls off an alarm is sounded and the engine is killed. The engine can be restarted after Something like 10 or 15 seconds.
