Desperado Questions

Post by SkinSaub » Thu Jul 18, 2019 4:06 pm

I have been eyeing up the 19' Desperado as my second build after a little row boat, and I had a few questions about it. First I have been attempting to find the stain that the old Chris Crafts use to get that nice red/orange glow. (See picture attached) Does anyone have any ideas or specific stains that can be used to obtain that color. I was also looking at the plans and see that they list the max horsepower for outboards but not inboards does anyone have the limit or the perfect I/O that will make her preform great? This will probably be the first of many questions but thanks anyways.

The stain is interlux Chris craft mahogany stain. They sell it at classic boat connection. See my build below to see what it looks like.

You can also custom mix dyes. I used Behlen's Solar-Lux dyes and was able to come up with good match.
