looking real good. It's great that you and your dad are working on this gig together. Makes it move along faster, not to mention the bonding time with your dad. Mine taught me everything I know about woodworking, but sadly passed before i started my boat.

Where in South Florida do you live? I’m also building the Malahini and I live in Port Charlotte. Maybe we could meet up sometime.

I'm in Fort Lauderdale, but my dad and the build are happening in Vero Beach.

Here's a couple of shots of the GasTank install:
Here you can see the box we built to hold the bottom of the tank. The

And here you can see the tank installed, with some aluminum brackets holding everythinging down in place - in this shot you can also see the bilge has been painted and the whole gas tank assembly can be lifted out of the boat by removing the floor/back seat.

Is that a 12 gallon tank, and what size engine are you planning?
Boat is looking very sharp.

Hey David,

I used to live in Vero Beach, then moved away to Maryland, then moved back to Melbourne Florida. I go down to Sebastian a lot and I am probably going to Join the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) chapter in Vero Beach, so I will be going down there pretty often. I would like to see your project sometime especially now that I know it is so close. It looks awesome by the way.

Thanks! It's a 19 gallon tank (I think in a previous post I had said it was a 17 gallon, but that was wrong) and we're hanging a 70 hp 4 stroke Yamaha off the back.

Ryan - feel free to drop me a PM, I can connect with with my dad to show you the build sometime the shop is on Old Dixie a little north of 8th street.
