I got one from Amazon. I was trying to give Glen-L the business. Thanks for the replies. Now for a little cooler weather with a few less mosquitos. Steve
Re: Outrage progress
Slow go. My brother helped me put the motor on. Got all the registration papers in and got the HIN’s. Wasn’t happy with the seat arrangement so that is still going on. The motor was more or less donated but it had to be completely rewired. Still have not got it cranked. I have a crank but no start situation. But I had a stroke 2 weeks ago and I am just now getting back to some kind of normal. Steve
Re: Outrage progress
Wow Steve! I'm glad you are okay. Boat looks great by the way.

Re: Outrage progress
Thank all of ya’ll for your concerns. Go for an echocardio scan Monday. Put me on Plavix. No brain bleed. Everything is about back to normal. The boat was going slow but it has really slowed now. Finding parts for an old Mercury and the MerControl has been interesting. Just got the starter overhauled and it spins good now. Just about everything electrical on the motor has been replaced but the trigger. Hopefully this weekend I can get it cranked.
What I did on the seats... I simply cut them in half. Only have the front ones in. Thinking about maybe a bench seat in the back. Whichever way, it’ll be almost sitting on the floor. Nothing is fastened down. Really want to get this motor cranked. We talking Ga redneck here. Steve

Re: Outrage progress
I was able to find a lot of stuff on ebay for a 1969 Merc 500. Actually found the motor there, too. I found so many things for the Zip, I almost named her SeaBay.

Yikes, glad you are doing well!
Re: Outrage progress
Glad you are okay. The boat looks great. It will be a blast screaming across the water in that low-slung machine.
Re: Outrage progress
I used System 3 clear over cured epoxy several months ago. I am seeing cloudy spots starting to appear. The epoxy was well seasoned and sanded to 320 grit. It has been looking real good up until the last couple of months. Anybody else had any issues using 2 part System 3? Don’t know if you can see the cloudiness under the paint can. Thoughts?? Steve
