Re: seat backs
I used 3 degrees, but I always like my seat backs more upright than most. If you search the forum, someone posted a nice diagram used for car seats a few years back

I did a search back to 2014 and couldn't find the diagram. Maybe some else remembers it and can post the link.

Greg,
This is the diagram I used for seat geometry (that and my truck seat).

Re: seat backs
The best way to determine seat position and back lean is to mock up seats using plywood and cushions before decking is applied and deck beams can still be adjusted. Seat choices need to be made as to whether you plan on bench seating or individual bucket seats.

Re: seat backs
thanks for all the information! Here is to 2020~
Re: seat backs
100 to 110 degrees between seat bottom and back is a good range. Measure a few chairs around the house that you like and mock something up.

Re: seat backs
I make my seat backs about 10 degree recline and angle the whole seat back about 10 degrees so you don’t slide forward.

Re: seat backs
Funny - the place I am intending to hire to do the seat cushions (they did a great job on the bed/seats on our restored 53 Field and Stream rv trailer) recommended no angle back, but straight up and down....Im taking Roberta's advise (and the others as well) to mock it up and then make a decision. Thanks all!

Re: seat backs
Straight up and down? No way! Even with foam that would be uncomfortable.
Re: seat backs
Wonder if anyone thought of trying a power seat base out of junk truck.Up-down-forward -back -tilt even heat to warm your buns on a cold day.
