hello everyone so after some research(Not complete) i have decided to build my own boat... at this stage im going for the bandido. also looked into the slot but im more comfortable with wood than fibreglass construction at this stage.
so far what i have done:
1. decided on requirements/specs im after.
2. researched the study plan of the bandido and possible finishing designs
3. looked at power options(so far inboard)
4. a supplier with the right type of construction material
Anybody with hints/tips/advice please drop me a comment or message

I don't have any tips beyond what Rod said. But this will be a fun build to follow. Be sure to post plenty of pics!

Thank you for your replies
ill look into the books and plans (about 2 months time) while getting the finance ready for this Project.
I might have to wait a little longer before actual building can start. Getting married in February and then we going to get a bigger house, but I'm sure nothing prevents me from cutting the templates and pieces out in the mean while.
with the inboard options, must the engine be marine or can it be automotive? if yes to automotive any conversions need to be done to the engine?
Regards

Re: New And ready... Port Elizabeth SA
yes you can use a auto engine but it must be changed or converted you just cant just put one in a boat and have it safety work. the inboard installation book i told you about has a chapter on doing this. by time you get the pieces it may be cheaper to get the marine engine though. and not all auto engines can be changed due to parts available.Cumulis wrote:
