Substitute "AC" Douglas Fir Plywood for "AB" Ext 3/4" ?

Post by jkwatson » Wed Nov 07, 2018 2:19 pm

I am unable to source "AB" grade Douglas Fir plywood in the Houston area. I can locate "AC" grade which I am told is finished one side vs two sides. The "AB" is in the Glen-L Bill of Materials for seat brackets, floorboards and seats, transom, stem, etc. Does anyone see an issue using the "AC" grade?

Thanks!

Try Houston Hardwoods. I get my Marine grade plywood there and there are sure to have the other types you are looking for.

If you can I would suggest making the transom and stem out of as high of quality as you can find. The seats and floorboards etc. should be fine with AC though.
