Post by Nomad_19 »

Rory (darthplywood) will apreciate these. I'm building one for him and myself. They will be fitted out as a runabout like the version my father/Rory's grandfather built and Rory built in full size'

I call them the twins, Luke and Leia.....

scale is 1-1/2" = 1'

used a Biesse Rover with a 5' x 12' flat bed to cnc the ribs!! talk about more power!!!

A CNC machine? Sounds like I hear a "kit" being offered.

I love the paper-clip clamps for the shear laminations.

You know they sell RC engines for boats right? I bult a deep-V design hull back in my teens and hand a little inboard gas engine that made it move pretty quick.

Just sayin...

Hello there :
Just discovered this scale model build that you made of the Sea Knight. I've been looking for a set of blue prints to build a scale model myself , whit it Im intending to honor my belated grandpa who built himself a life size boat out of a Popular Mechanics magazine to scape communist Cuba with the family in the 1960s, he got caught boarding and thrown in prison . It will be awesome for me to be able to do that . Wondering if you have down scale blue prints let me know. Thanks in advance !!

You might give Gayle a call to see if you could purchase the plan sheets for the purpose of building a model. Plan sheets are generally one inch to the foot and could be scaled up. That would be less expensive than buying the full plans with full size patterns.

I used my plan sheets for the Torpedo scaled to 1/6th for my model.

I would call Gayle directly at Glen L. She would be the best person to help you out. She may or may not catch this post.
