Mercury Mark 35a electric start conversion?

Post by Joel_P »

Hello, I am new to the forum and to outboards. I recently had the opportunity to purchase a mark 35a manual start and I was curious if it could be converted to an electric start. I did a search here, but didn’t find exactly what I was looking for so I apologize if this topic has already been covered. Thanks for any help

There are several people here that can help you, so let's see what they come up with. It may be possible to do the conversion. It will require an upgraded umbilical and internal harness, a flywheel change and probably a top shroud change. You might have good luck looking at John's old mercury site and, two areas that collect knowledgeable people. Good luck! And feel free to ask more questipns
