Rowing a Sculling Skiff

Rowing a Sculling Skiff
I built a 17' Sculling skiff to the plans and the boat seems to be less stable then I would have thought. I have rowed Racing shell that are very unstable and I know how to row. I thought the skiff would allow a beginner to learn how to row. is this the nature of this design? I also have Wherry and it is stable and you can sit in it all day without sweeps to balance the boat. the skiff requires you to know how to row a Scull to keep it upright. is this what I should expect from this design?

Ahem....you may be getting older than you think.
I've rowed since I was a kid in the Puget sound country.
Now that I'm 'older'
I find that I'm sorta 'tippy' when I'm out in my Jon boat.
Anything round bottom, Canoe etc is gonna be tippy. You just didn't notice all that when you were young and right on top of things.

I row it just fine but my friends and kids are having trouble. they are beginners. built this design so they could learn . They can not, even if I let them row my racing scull. I thought this model would beore stable.

I thought it would be more stable because it is much wider then my racing shell
It is easer for me bug they keep flipping and swamping the boat
we are going to close off the bow and stern to keep the water out
