G'day guys, it's been a long time since I've been back but I'm happy to report I finally got some more
testing done on LIL INSANE this past weekend. Apart from getting my ute bogged at the lake, the boat preformed beautifully. My original problem of porpoising and slow to get on a plane were solved with the installation of the trim tabs. A couple of minor tweaks and away I went.
Hopefully you can view these on YouTube enjoy.
Managed another weekend out with LIL INSANE. Water was a tiny bit choppy but still got it up to 25mph (40kph). Planes beautiful now. So much fun. Turns unbelievable.
Ok so I'm pretty happy with the entire set up now. It's been an awesome project with lots of interest. I can finally say now it's all finished and an absolute blast to get out on the lake for some fun. I'm gonna bombard you guys now with the final finished pics.
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions along the way.
Your boat looks like a little master piece. I have been lurking in the background of this forum
for about 6 months and am dieing to build my own boat stariting with something small like a Pee Wee
Or maybe a Bullet or Dynomite.
I live I out in the north eastern suburbs. Are you anywhere close? I would love to come see your work in the wood.
Sorry, I know I am a complete stranger, but I am not a pyscopath. Promise! Just a fellow Ozzie keen to build a boat.
Gday all. Just put a few pictures of my latest modification to LIL INSANE. After a few outings I noticed the back of the boat filling up with a bit of water. So I had some spare time on my hands after Christmas and a crazy idea to fit a small bilge pump. Ive got a little carried away on this build but I cant help myself I love this thing. Its an addiction or im just a LIL INSANE
I have thought about a windscreen and have sometime during our winter here to have a play around.
What have others made them out of? Glass or Perspex? I'm thinking Perspex only because of the sheer size of a PeeWee. Glass would be unwanted extra weight? Yes or No
Happy Easter to everyone.
We have a 4 day long weekend and the weather is just perfect so it was a great chance to dust off the cobwebs and take LIL INSANE for a cruise around Lake Eildon, Victoria, AUS.
The only problem I encounted was I found out how long a 15 litre tank of fuel lasts. That's right I ran out of fuel on my way back in just a couple of hundred meters short of the boat ramp.
I would have made it back but decided to stop and do some circle work. Have I told you how incredible this little boat turns its amazing.
