Before almost year ago I have bought plans for 17 ft Stripper canoe. We decided to do some major modifications and build canoe with ribs. Canoe ribs are made from ash and for planking I used sapelle mahogany. Everything on this boat is made of ash and mahogany. Now I will install seats with real leather. Weight of canoe will be up to 50 kilos max. It is hard to do a lighter canoe because of the materials that are used in building proces. Canoe is solid as a rock
