After 2 and a half years of building and scouring the site for info and help it's time for me to post my progress so far, in the hope that i may help others with their builds.Be kind in the comments as its my first build.

hull progress
I purchased the hull from a boat builder who had given up on the project 10 years ago.
When i got it it was just the frame and 1 layer of ply.
2 years later its up the right way and the interior work began

I'm using a 350 mercruiser ski comp motor with a 1:1 Velvet drive
Head has had a fair amount of porting work.
3 inch stainless exhaust with cross over, exiting 4 inch out the centre transom. I used std mercruiser internal flapper valves in the rear section to stop water backflowing into system.
Dual water inlets with dual strainers into std mercruiser suction pump
32 galon plastic tank with 2 electric pumps, one std use the other as a reserve fuel/ spare pump.

I chose the Autometer antique gauges in a similar configuration to the chris craft racing runabout layout.
Custom steering column attached to a std teleflex steering helm.
1958 Holden (GM) steering wheel with a custom mount to use the std chrome horn ring.
I went for the curved dash slightly and will add a timber piece under the panel to finish the underside.
There is a centre section under the seat that will eventually become a cold store area.

Top finishing boards
i used 12mm thick fijian mahogany for all the top decking.
The layout will be as per the original style with all timber strips,
Transom has a 25mm x 25mm bent top inlayed timber to allow me to slightly round the edge
On the side i have decided to use solid mahogany as an edge so that i can sand the edge profile to merge with.
The top planks will butt against it and be sanded as 1 piece

engine cover
Not 100% if the engine cover will be timber, or upholstery, or a combination.
Rear open section will work as a fold down drink cabinet, with hidden lights.

Progress so far....
Top decking timber has been completed.
All done in 12mm thick mahogany, with a 5mm gap, thanks to the help of 100s of time spacers
Now it's time to sand.

More deck top pics
Outer timber will be stained in dark mahogany stain with clear over
Inner strips will be done in clear over natural timber.

Gap in timber on deck is filled with clear epoxy mixed with West System Filler beads.
I'm going to sand the top deck in 1 piece to give a smooth finish
