Great job!
Re: Malahini performance
I added some bling on the rear deck this year. Hatch trim and grab handles. Boat is running good, but I need to replace my impeller. Water flow at idle is weak.

Looks great! Your spotter not watching the tube riders?

Also, I dropped from a 17 to a 15 pitch prop this season . Great hole shot and runs 5300 rpm at WOT. 17 pitch is a nice cruise prop and the 15 is much better for water sports.

Link to Malahini pulling kids tubing at about 20 mph. Boat is capable of pulling them waaay too fast.

Before you buy hubcaps, be sure they will clear the buddy bearings.

Installed trims tabs today. I know, they scream Band-Aid, but I had to do something about the porpoising at high speed with a heavily loaded boat. No sea trails, 1st go will be up the river to Chattanooga.

Looking forward to seeing it!
Re: Malahini performance
Report on the trim tabs. Eliminated all porpoising, I would have to trim the motor waaay up to get it to porpoise at WOT. With motor “in” the tabs push the bow down giving a better ride in choppy water. In smooth water I can trim the the motor out raising the bow for more speed or to cross a wake without soaking everyone. Overall, pleased with outcome.
Spray rails are next on the improvements list for next year.
Good to see everyone at the Gathering last weekend.

I’m installing spray rails up front this spring on Malahini. What is the standard for the thickness to be effective? Is 1” enough to deflect the water? I’m going to build them like Bob B’s with an added stainless steel trim.

I think this is the best place I've found on rails. http://www.marineind.net/index.htm They make for the other vendors.
